Business Babes - The Rustic Orange

This week I struck up a conversation with Annette from The Rustic Orange, a mother bird with a serious flair for design. Her work is inspiring, quaint, and beautiful, and a part of the proceeds from her work goes to helping those in need. It goes without being said, The Rustic Orange is an amazing place to shop!
Shop Name:
The Rustic Orange

Tell us about yourself:
I'm a wife and mother of two! I received my BA in Drama, became an ER nurse, and went back to artistic side after my daughter was born!

Description of your product / materials / aesthetic:
I love to paint! So, I always try to find an excuse to paint when creating my pieces! I create for the home and wedding! ((Wood signs, mugs, furniture, wall decor, prints, etc!!))

When did you start your shop?
I started my etsy shop a few months ago, but I started up cycling and reprinting furniture about a year ago!

What are your long term goals for your shop?
My family has a huge passion for missions, reducing sex trafficking, and the helping the homeless. So, I hope to be able to incorporate my art with helping others on a larger scale!!

Things that most inspire you to create:
Color, nature, people, and music!!

Do you have a favorite Etsy shop besides your own? Care to share?
Yes!!! I love 11_11vintage, marine_parents, inspirelovely

A peek inside your workspace:

Do you have any advice for anyone just starting out?
Hard work never goes to waste! And make sure you're doing what you love for all the right reasons!!

What would your ideal day be like?
Be able to create while the kids nap! Sometimes it runs into mommy and me time.
