weekly art update #3

May 21, 2014

A little while back, I made these prints for my housemate, Sabrina. She moved here from Germany at the beginning of the year, and it's been great getting to know her! Soon after she moved in, we started talking about wall art, and finding something to fill her empty walls. That's when I saw her looking at a print on Etsy, which featured the shape of a state with a heart in the middle. Having studied graphic design in the past, I knew I could re-create that idea with little to no effort. I started with Michigan, where Sabrina was an exchange student during her highschool years. Then Germany and Virginia! I think they turned out really cool, and I might make some similar prints in the future.

What do you think of these?
What places do you call home?

  1. Aw this is an adorable and thoughtful idea!

  2. These look amazing Jess. I would love a Scotland one!
    Water Painted Dreams xo

  3. For a laugh you should do one where you think I live without looking it up, then another afterwards ;)

  4. I think that is absolutely adorable! I think I would like to try to do something similar for my home. Maybe something with all the places important to the hubby & me. You have definitely given me inspiration for a future home decor project!

  5. What a cool idea! I love it.
