Cirque du Soleil Amaluna @ National Harbor

Last night Sabrina, Tianna, and I went to go see Amaluna by Cirque du Soleil! I was so excited, never having been to anything like it before! At around five o'clock, we were out the door and on our way to National Harbor. We got there (no thanks to an extra half hour of traffic) and quickly found our restaurant of choice.

For dinner, we picked a fun, kitschy place called Cadillac Ranch. Complete with 80's and 90's music videos, a ceiling made of license plates, and a ride-if-you-dare mechanical bull. To my dismay, we were all wearing skirts, so the bull went untouched (until next time!)

We kept it simple for dinner, each of us having our own take on the classic cheeseburger. They were pretty great. After dinner, it was a short walk to the big top, and we got ready to see our show!

Not before a little goofing off, of course!

Sadly, we were instructed by an usher (rather rudely, to be honest) that there was no photography allowed in the tent. That being said, we still enjoyed the show just as much, but I couldn't blog any of the acrobatics. Below is a promotional photo from Cirque du Soleil.

To me, the best parts of the show were the displays of pure strength and agility by the performers. The show was beautiful, moody, funny, sexy; and blended music, art, and dance perfectly. I'd recommend it to anyone.

After the show, we checked out the new ferris wheel, took some photos, and indulged in some Ben & Jerry's ice cream. It was a lovely night, and I'm so glad I got to spend it with two of my favorite ladies.

Have you been to Cirque du Soleil?
Have you followed Sabrina on Flickr yet?
