How I Make (and Save) Money Online

As a college student, it's important that I get the biggest bang for my buck. Especially with the cost of text books, rent, gas, and all that, I've got to keep the rest of my funds strictly budgeted. When I do get to splurge a little with my money, I make sure I'm smart about it.

A few of the methods I use to save and/or earn money online are as follows:

SwagBucks - One of my favorite ways to earn quick cash online is through SwagBucks. It's basically a rewards site that lets you earn money for playing games, watching videos, searching the web, going on scavenger hunts, and completing special offers. I redeem my SwagBucks for Amazon gift cards, and in the few months I've had it, I've earned over $50 in Amazon gift cards. Click here to join SwagBucks!

Ebates - Ebates is a great way to earn cash back on the online purchases you're already going to make. They have hundreds of stores to choose from, and all you have to do is go through Ebates first, and they'll apply any coupon codes, free shipping offers, and give you your percentage of your purchase back! My mom used Ebates to buy her new mattress, and earned over $150 back! Join Ebates to get a $10 gift card + cash back on your first purchase!

Craigslist - I used craigslist to get a bunch of the furniture for my house, and to sell some of the junk I had laying around. Craigslist is a great place to find out about free stuff, community events, and anything else you could be searching for. I scored an ikea desk for $15 on Craigslist, and it's my favorite piece of furniture I own!

eBay - This one is a given, but I get in trouble really quickly on eBay. I want to buy everything!

MintVine - MintVine is one of my new favorites for earning points to turn into gift cards and Paypal cash. I've made about $15 just this month by taking surveys, and I'm currently saving up to buy a new camera! Travel vlogs coming soon! Click here to join MintVine and start earning points!

What do you do to earn and save money online?
Do you use any of these resources?

  1. In the UK our Craigslist is Gumtree and it's so great for cheap furniture. But otherwise another thing I use here is Quidco, which works with pretty much most of the main retailers to give cashback on online purchases. These kind of sites are a no brainer!

  2. Wow I've never heard of some of these! I will definitely have to look into them. Great post!

  3. i've only used ebay, had no idea about the others!

  4. These are great ideas! I love this. Time is money, right! If you have a little time you can make a little dough. This is fantastic!

  5. This is something I need to check into - who couldn't use some extra cash!

  6. This is the second time I've seen someone mention Swagbucks. I really need to look into this.

  7. OOh great tips, thanks so much for sharing!
