Though I think "starting Christmas" this early is a bit overzealous, I can't help but get excited about the pending holiday season. I do think it's cool that a few companies are standing up about the whole Black Friday thing, and keeping their doors closed until regular business hours instead of opening at 8pm on Thanksgiving day, but I may just get caught up in a few Black Friday deals myself. We'll see. It is a tradition after all.
Starbucks just released the best drink of the year, my pride and joy, the Peppermint Mocha. If you've read this blog for any amount of time, you know my deep, burning, and slightly creepy love for all things peppermint. It's a widely accepted fact that Peppermint Mochas are basically liquid winter, so when that angelbaby of a drink makes its annual debut, I turn into Buddy the Elf.
Though I am not a slave to Starbucks, I definitely appreciate the red cup reveal each year. It's just one of those things that gets me in the holiday mood! I love all peppermint mochas equally, and will make sure to patronize 7-11, Peet's (caribou) coffee, and McDonald's varieties as well. Maybe I'll have a PMoch taste test, and decide once and for all which of them is the absolute best.
The Peppermint Mocha. It's a dream, a shining star on my horizon, its the quintessential feel good drink. One sip and I'm in a winter wonderland. Another sip and I'm basically:
See, Katy Perry gets it. Peppermint is all there is to life, and I would totally rock that dress. I also heard that Bath and Body works had a Peppermint Mocha candle last year, and if they bring it back, I'm totally going to get it. It's a necessity.
Other things that should be Peppermint:
Finally, Pumpkin Spice is a thing of the past, and I couldn't be happier about it. (Just kidding they'll probably keep it around for another few weeks.) Fall is retreating quickly into our rearview mirrors, the days are getting shorter, and Santa will soon be making his list. I hope you guys are ready for winter. I sure am!
Do you love the Peppermint Mocha as much as I do?
What about the Chestnut Praline Latte? Have you tried that yet?
