I've been nose deep in Yes Please recently. I am all about Amy Poehler, she's the best. I've gotten maybe half of the way through thus far, and I'll admit that I skipped ahead to read her dedications to the Parks and Rec cast. That might just be my favorite part, but I'll just have to keep reading to see. This book has been all the rage lately, so I'm sure a lot of you have been reading it too. If you are, let me know what you think!
Winter break has also brought a few of my favorite things back into my life - my ladies! Four of them to be exact. It's been forever since we were all together, and it was great to snuggle up with all of them again! We ordered pizza, played endless games of Scattergories (my favorite) and took silly photos together. Since I've known these girls forever, it was like going back to when we were kids at a slumber party. Not much has changed!
We also played Quelf, which may be the silliest game to exist on this planet. Within the first five minutes of the game I was playing the Star Spangled Banner with my nose. Later in the game I had to teach the girls a workout routine in less than 10 seconds. Other cards had us changing our names, making lists of things that can float, and redecorating the room while pretending to be different characters. If you ever get a chance to play it, you totally should!
Then I got out my instax camera and we took photos How I Met Your Mother style. I took no time in adding them to the scrapbook page of our adventures together! Sadly I won't be able to see all of these ladies in one place again until summer break, but I'll have these memories to hold me over.
I also made my first ever purchase at Teavana! The blend I picked was quite an interesting one, maybe not for the faint of heart. It's a blend of Raspberry Balsalmico (yes- balsalmic! I was like whaaaat) and Limeaid Twist. Overall, it's basically Raspberry Limeaid, but it's got all kinds of berries and citrus and herbs and even hibiscus flowers.
It looks and smells quite a bit like potpourri, but still gorgeous for tea nonetheless! It tastes pretty great too!
Now it's time for a giveaway, since I've been talking about the things I've been loving lately, here are a few of the things I've loved for a long time. I chose all of these things carefully and lovingly for you, my people!
Up for grabs is my favorite Bath and Body Works Scent - French Lavender & Honey, a deluxe travel sized Maracuja Oil from Tarte (the perfect nighttime moisturizer!) There's also a Better Than Sex Mascara and La Creme Color Lipstick in Divine Wine by Too Faced (the perfect red!) Smith's Rosebud Salve (literally a life saver for dry skin and chapped lips, oh my gosh) and NARS Blush in Deep Throat.
