Rainy Day Lady Date!

March 11, 2015

Yester my gal pal Le'Andra and I decided to get brunch a La Madeleine, a little french bistro at the mall across town. It was raining all day, so we decided to find a place that would make us feel warm and cosy. La Madeline is one of my favorite places to grab a bite, it's like comfort food and class mixed up in one neat little package!

Le ordered the build-your-own omlette, which she said was to die for. I'll admit, I was pretty jealous of her croissant. Just look at it! Don't you just want to shove the entire thing in your mouth?!

I got the Croque Monsieur, which is basically a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, only a million times better. A cup of tomato basil soup came along with it, and it was hands down the best tomato soup I've ever had. Seriously, if there is a La Madeleine near you, run there now. Next time I visit, I'm getting the Eggs Benedict!

After brunch we headed to the gigantic Salvation army store near my house. I've been thrifting my ass off lately, it's been great! We were on a tiny time crunch, so I didn't find anything at SA this time, but there are always scores lurking in the shadows. We'd also decided to take some clothes to sell at Plato's Closet, another thrifty/consignment store (but all "on-trend") and had a blast looking through all of the new spring clothes!

That pile of clothes there are all the things we tried on (a HUGE bin!) I walked away with a new workout top, a J.Crew blouse, and a pretty feather print scarf. Le'Andra, on the other hand hit the motherload! She got a trench coat, a pair of sky-high chunky boots (I nicknamed them "man killers"), and a brand new Kate Spade bag (tags still on it!!!!) for around $50. I am so proud.

What is your favorite meal to have for brunch?
Tell me your best ever thrifting score!

  1. Your meals look so good! I am a huge fan of croissants. My favorite breakfast/brunch food is probably and egg and cheese biscuit, or egg and cheese croissant if I'm lucky enough to find a place that serves that!

Well done to Le'Andra for managing to get all of that for $50 - such a good haul!
