June Cocktail | Malibu Mango Sunrise

I thought I'd try something new this month, so I decided to share a cocktail recipe! My best friend's birthday is this month, so I thought I would make her a signature cocktail for her! This is an interesting twist on the classic Tequila Sunrise, with a bit of mango and coconut!

To make a Malibu Mango Sunrise, you will need:
  • 4oz (or a good pour) of Orange Juice (I used mango-infused orange juice)
  • 1/2 a shot of Malibu Coconut Rum
  • 1/2 a shot of Bacardi Mango Fusion
  • 2oz (or a good pour) of club soda
  • A squeeze of lemon to cut some of the sweetness.
  • 1tbsp of Grenadine syrup (optional)
  • A shaker full of ice
To start, pour your orange juice, coconut rum, Bacardi, lemon, and club soda into your shaker. Give it a good shake and pour into your glass. If you'd like to make the "sunrise effect," add a tablespoon of grenadine syrup. It will sink to the bottom and make a gradient in your glass.

I usually go light on the grenadine, as it can be overly sweet. Once I've ooh'd and ahh'd at my pretty sunrise, I give it a good stir so I'm not drinking all the grenadine when I get to the bottom of the glass.

All in all, this drink is great for people who don't really like to taste their alcohol, very summery, and would be perfect to drink on the beach.

What's your favorite summery drink?
What kind of cocktail recipe would you like to see next month?

  1. Ohh this sounds refreshing and perfect for summer! I hate pineapple and I feel coconut is ALWAYS mixed with pineapple. But I love mango so this is perfect!
