As a student and a working girl, it's really important for me to prepare my meals before I start my (often long and treacherous) day. I'm often running from class to work with no break in between, and I've learned that it's super expensive and quite unhealthy to eat lunch out every day. This year, one of my new years resolutions was to make an effort to start packing a good, healthy lunch for myself each day.
I was given an opportunity to try Ready Pac Bistro Bowl from Wegmans (kind of my favorite grocery store on earth!) and I was really impressed with the variety of options they offered! There's a salad for every palette and personality.

Since I've recently gone dairy-free, it was nice to see options that would work for me as well. My favorite that I tried was the Kale Apple Veggie, which has kale greens, celery, apple, cranberries, sunflower seeds, and a yummy poppyseed dressing. There's even a mini fork included, so I don't have to worry about carrying around pesky utensils all day!
I've also been on a smoothie kick these past couple of weeks, and have absolutely LOVED adding frozen dark cherries. Seriously, cherry banana smoothies are so much better than the traditional strawberry banana, take my word for it! My smoothie is ridiculously simple, which is perfect for my on-the-go mornings.
I can't get over how easy this is! All you need for this smoothie is:
- A banana (I popped mine in the fridge the night before)
- Frozen dark cherries
- A splash of almond milk
