Yesterday was my day off after a long couple of days of work, so I decided to take it easy and lay around the house for a bit, watching Bob's Burgers and finally getting around to organizing my new shelving unit. I'd had a really tall bookcase in my room for the longest time, but it was starting to get in the way, so I changed it out for one of the 9-cube organizers from Target. It took a little while to get used to not having a 7-foot-tall shelf against the wall, but so far I really like that it's freed up some space and also gives me more opportunity to "display" my belongings. What do you think? Would you rather have a tall shelf or a cubicle-style one?
After getting some laziness done, I took a little trip to the Salvation Army store and donated some of the items I had laying around, and of course stopped inside to check out some of the digs. I was mostly looking for a sewing machine, but I had no luck. I did manage to pick up a few midi-skirts and a top!
I also stopped in to Starbucks for a mid-afternoon treat. I got hazelnut iced coffee with coconut milk, how cool is it that they have coconut milk now?!
After coffee, I headed to my favorite place, McKays used bookstore! I swear I could spend hours there, days even. I think I hung out in there, going through rows and rows of books and DVDs, for probably two hours.
I ended up with some really awesome additions to my movie collection (and replaced a couple that I'd lent to slightly forgetful friends, but for $1 apiece, I can't be mad!) It's my life's mission to have a great movie collection, and I think I'm succeeding. I also picked out a dairy free cookbook. It's also gluten and wheat free, two things which I've never been worried about - but I can't complain!
After I got back from shopping, I headed out with Grace for Taco Tuesday at Cafe Rio. Their barbacoa tacos are to die for! A perfect ending to a perfect day!
