Since the year started I've been keeping stock, rearranging things and trying to get everything organized in time for the new semester. I started with my dresser, framed a Shia LaBeouf quote that I doodled, bought this mug for my makeup brushes. I thought my big amethyst geode was a nice touch too!

I've been loving sequins lately, and I think it's because of all the glitz of the New Years Eve festivities! I bought this dress from ASOS in silver, and loved it! Quite a few people stopped me to remark how shiny I was, which made me smile. I felt kind of like a disco ball, but in a good way. To be honest, I never thought the all-over sequin thing would be for me, as I thought it would be crazy itchy, but other than getting a little tangled in my hair by the end of the night, I hardly noticed the sequins!

Since I was working on getting my surroundings organized, I thought it would be a good idea to get myself all squared away on paper as well. I bought myself a new agenda - a repurchase of a Lilly Pulitzer planner, because I loved the one I had last year. I downsized this year, as I thought the large size was a bit too much to carry around every day. I also picked up the Q&A a day journal, because I thought it would be a cool addition to my daily routine, and a fun way to look back on my life years from now.

I took Ulta by storm, as one should after the holidays - THOSE SALES YAS - and picked up some Physicians Formula BB Cream, Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Toasted, and a travel size of Soap & Glory's Righteous Butter (which smells like a freaking dream OMG how have I never owned this stuff before?!)

I also learned an important lesson about shopping smart, because I was planning on buying the Brazil Nut Body Butter from The Body Shop, thinking it was a good deal to get it on sale for in their store $12 - until I went into TJ Maxx, where they had it for $5.99! Always check TJ Maxx or Nordstrom Rack first, kids!

My dear friend Sabrina sent me a lovely package for Christmas with chocolates from Germany and a really awesome coloring book. If you've never tried the Mon Cheri chocolates, think of your average cherry cordial, but with a punch of alcohol. Like a big punch, but they're so good! They've become somewhat of a Christmas tradition around here.

I finally took the plunge and got the pair of all white Converse sneakers that I've wanted since I was in the 7th grade. Granted, I took a break from chucks for a good five to seven years, but now I'm back with a vengeance. I had a really hard time picking from the all white or the monochromatic black ones, but I ultimately ended up giving in to the white ones. Partly because they reminded me of the taupe ones that I (and William Beckett) had back in the day, and also because I have a monochromatic pair of black Vans that I hardly ever wear. Who knows, maybe those will be the next ones, but I think I'll be satisfied for a while,  mostly because I found a pair of classic black high tops at the thrift store for $10. Success.

How is your week going?

  1. I would buy that "don't let your dreams be dreams" framed doodle in a heartbeat! It speaks to me.

  2. I've been looking into getting the Q&A diary book and some white converse too! Just getting round to it in the new year after all that holiday over spending!

  3. Oh my gosh, I love the Shia quote. That's pretty much my favorite quote ever! The Q&A journal sounds like a lot of fun!
